Does using Ghee for hair oiling help in hair growth?

Who doesn’t love silky, smooth hair? Everyone does. Boy or girl this is something which everyone unanimously will agree to. In the struggle of achieving the perfect hair type, we end up buying and experimenting all the shampoos and conditioners that we see in ads. I myself was a victim of that. Not any more.
So, recently I was scrolling through the Instagram posts and I saw a video of a girl applying ghee mixed with coconut oil on her hair. She said that her Naani (grandmother) told her about this special hair treatment. And apparently, it’s good for frizzy hair, dandruff, hair growth, etc.
Now, what do you think I would do seeing that video? Yes, I decided to give it a try!!! I mixed up coconut oil and ghee and applied on my hair and scalp. Did a good massage on the scalp to let the ghee really in. And then wrapped my hair into a bun. After approx 2 hrs I washed my hair. I continued this process for a month. Because, duh, it doesn’t work in a wash and miraculously transform your hair as you have just come out of a salon.
So, after trying this for a month, this is what I have felt. Ghee does add smoothness to my hair. My hair feels less frizzy. My scalp feels good. Ghee contains vitamin D which also helps in fighting hair loss. As ghee is rich in essential fatty acids, vitamin A and E too, my scalp is no more dry or itchy(wasn’t before either), but you get the point right?
Also, keep in mind to use a light shampoo on your hair. Because you are applying these good things in your hair, you don’t want to lose those properties by using any harsh shampoo, right? I used Satinique, which is a product by Amway and it worked well.
Let me know in the comments below if you have tried this before. If not, try it and let me know how you felt.
